Standing Strong in our Faith

Standing Strong in our Faith

As we journey through our lives, it is inevitable that we will be tested in our faith as Christians. One thing is certain, we will go through many trials and tribulations along the way. As leaders, we must become firm in our foundation and for what we hold as truth. In doing this we will become that rock in our loved ones lives. We must always stand strong in our faith. In today’s progressive and modem ways, it has never been more important to spread the love of Jesus and not be afraid to defend the doctrine of our Lord and Savior.

Matthew 10:32-33
32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

Psalms 23:2-4
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Matthew 16:24-25
24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

- Horses believe it or not, are a good example of how we should follow Christ. Below is a great video to watch about this.

In order for horses to be broke they have to submit themselves unto the trainer; meaning there needs to be some sort of trust, love, etc.

A horse has over 170 ways of communication. If a trainer is trying to break a horse there must be TRUST. As you will see in the video above, the trainer will let the horse run free but will stay focused on the horse as it circles him. You will see the trainer turn away from the horse at somepoint and then the horse will slowly make his way too him, The trainer has let the horse know that he is here to stay and that he has to trust him. When this happens the horse has submitted to the trainer and is now “ready to follow him”.

Horses are prey to the predators of this world, They drink from the same water as their enemy (coyotes, wolves, etc.) but the same can be said for us, The Lord will sometimes put our enemies at the same table as us. We must always be aware of what is out there. One day you may find yourself at the same table as our enemies, we must show them the love and joy of Jesus Christ. You never know, the Lord might use you to bring them into the Kingdom!

The Lord will always be here, no matter what. When it seems like he has turned his back on us, he never does. He wants us to completely submit ourselves to Him. We should be asking the Lord to show us what He wants us to do, listen, then do it without hesitation. As humans we are not perfect by any means, and there will be times where we will question him for the things he lays on our heart. However, we must trust him. Just as the horse trust his trainer.

Understanding this dynamic will only build a better relationship with the Lord and will help us stay strong in our faith. For we know that good will come of it. This is where the world is going to test you. Be ready and stay strong in your faith so you can become the rock your family needs.

Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
